π¦ 3 Wishes, In-Person Event & Lots of Updates

Hello moon kitties, I just finished up a series of 3 paintings for a group art show and I can't wait to share them with you. The theme of the exhibit is TINY GLIMMERS curated by the wonderful artist, CJ Metzger, and gallery owner, Leanna Lin. If you haven't already heard of glimmers, they are having a moment on social media and are the opposite of βtriggersβ. They are tiny micro-moments of joy β fleeting, everyday moments that elicit a rush of happiness and gratitude. They can take many forms: a cat closes its eyes and smiles at you, you hear your favorite song on the radio, or you spot a tiny caterpillar inching along the sidewalk. Being present and noticing these tiny glimmers help us to feel more joy, awe, and WONDER. With all the intensity in our world, we need these feelings in our lives now more than ever. When I was envisioning the art I wanted to make for this show, I thought of two experiences that are often glimmers for me: seeing a shooting star and having a surprise encounter with an animal in the wild. I loved the idea that if each of my paintings contained a shooting star, we could wish upon the painting. Making a wish connects me to a childhood sense of wonder and magic and that is a sort of glimmer as well. When you look at each of these paintings, make a wish. These paintings incorporate gold, silver, copper and iridescent metallic watercolor paint that is best experienced in person. UPDATE ~ Spirit Cats 2025 CalendarBehind the scenes, a lot has been happening these past few weeks. We shipped out almost all the 2025 Spirit Cat Calendar pre-orders.
